The play "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz" by El Greco, always reminded me of the image of a lynching: people around a dead person, watching. With this idea, the process of creating a parody of this image began, with myself as the protagonist. In 2011, I was beaten up by two security guards who mistook me for a thief, an incident which fortunately did not escalate to worse. This, however, was a very difficult experience for me and, some time later, the fear still lingers that, given the right circumstances, one can be lynched in Guatemala over a small misunderstanding... All the characters in this play are played by me. On the earthly plane, there is a mixture of everyday characters: the evangelical pastor, the priest, the soccer player, the girl, the old woman, the devil, death, among others; behind them, you see people with cell phones watching and recording the scene while at the top I replaced religious characters with animals.
